It's That Time Again

While the adoption of Daylight Saving Time is almost always rife with controversy, most of the world (except for countries around the Equator) has implemented DST at one point or another. This map depicts countries that currently have DST, that previously had DST, and that never had DST. Today, approximately 70 countries utilize Daylight Saving Time in at least a portion of the country. Japan, India, and China are the only major industrialized countries that do not observe some form of daylight saving.

Here's a little poem I wrote about the time change. Thought you might get a kick out of it. :)

An Hour Gained

Listen to the tick and tock
And the chimes of the clock

It's giving us back some time
An hour more the clock does chime

Sunrise smiles on us today
More time to work or play

Now I can sleep an hour more
Then up to dress and out the door

An hour gained again is here
Five more months of the year

Ah yes, sunrise smiles on us today
An hour more to work or play

Now don't forget to change your clocks tonight. Enjoy the extra hour of sleep and until the next time, have a weekend of blessings.

  1. That is a good poem! I don't know if I really like daylight savings time or not. About the time you ajust to one it time to change again. Maybe it's the getting older that's the problem, I like some things to stay the same.

  2. Great poem!
I am glad to see clocks go back to normal time. It's awful seeing the kids go to school in the dark. Dangerous for them too so tonight I will be a happy camper.

  3. Hi Toni, I really don't think we should have a time change. It means my daughter will have to drive home in the dark. I like the extra hour of sleep. I like the pictures from your previous post. I would love to take a drive out to the country/mountains to see that, but our car can't make long uphill climbs. Looking forward to getting a new car in 2016! Hugs

We "fall back" at the end of October, too soon for me.
Have a lovely and colorful autumn, huggles!
