Friday Foto Friends ~ Paintings Of Lights

Today I'm featuring two paintings. The first painting is by the artist Dave Barnhouse.  (This from his Bio)  An all-American man, who's every bit as comfortable behind the wheel of his John Deere, as he is in front of the easel. He's a man of simple passions, who paints the things that he knows and loves. To sit with Dave in his little, cabin-esque art studio, you would never guess that this humble man was one of our nation's most valued and accomplished painters. But a look at any of Dave's canvases tells the story. These paintings are more than attractive home décor. Dave's paintings are a window into the heart of small town USA. To times and places where the air is clear and life is just plain good.. This is one of the oil paintings from his site titled, "Serenity ©". Beautiful isn't it! Can be bought for $100.00 on sale. Dimensions 17 1/2 x 28.

And of course we all know the late Thomas Kinkade, the Painter of Light™, who emphasized simple pleasures and inspirational messages through his art. Here is one of his paintings titled, "Conquering The Storm ©".

  1. I love Kinkade. He was mocked and made fun of by so many who could never have done what he did. Very ugly and sad indeed how critics treated him.
These are great paintings. You could step into his paintings and there is a good reason they are so beloved.

  2. Beautiful, we have been learning about watercolor artists such as Homer and Turner. How these folks can paint, is beyond me...it must take an imagination, smiles.

  3. Lighthouses always make beautiful paintings, at least I think so...they can be happy or sad, and even gloomy! Both of these paintings are so pretty, I think I like the one by Thomas Kincade, it's so peaceful to look at.
