I don't have many photos of the two of them as "my babies" are now 52 years old today. Here are two I have. The photos make my hair look red instead of blonde. No cellphones yet.
High School Graduation June, 1984
My two the same but different
One remains and one is gone.
In sorrow one departed young
And one is left to carry on.
The one left is a blessing
And filled with grace above.
The one gone was just the same
With each so full of love.
Identical mirror twins were they
One remaining and one long gone
In sorrow one departed young
And one is left to carry on.

Today I'm going out for breakfast at Applebees with my sisters and other family members and friends. It's a fundraiser breakfast for my church, one I attend every year. Besides being a pancake lover (though I usually make my own from scratch) It's also time spent with my family and friends. It's always a lot of fun as we catch up on what's going on with each other etc., plus it's the only time I get to eat real bacon for I usually stay away from it even though I love it. Hopefully the weather cooperates.
I'm looking forward to a lovely weekend. I hope yours will be blessed also.
Happy Birthday Louis!!! I am so sorry for you loss, Toni...On the news last night, (just a little tidbit), they had a tribute to the Marines and one sailor that were killed in the airplane crash over Miss. on Monday, the youngest one was 20, my sons age...I couldn't imagine loosing a child...grieving for any family that looses their child. Just heartbreaking, friend.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea Applebee's serves breakfast, smiles. Have a beautiful day friend, looks like a stormy day here in little ole Hornell.
Thank you Linda. Before regular opening Applebee's has reserved group charities breakfasts . Our church has one every year to help feed the hungry. It costs $6 each person and well worth it.
DeleteI know what it is like to lose children and I wish it never happened to anyone ever.
ReplyDeleteI would give you the biggest hug ever if I could Toni.
Happy birthday to Louis and many more to come.
Have a great time at Appleby's with your family. :)
Thank you dear Annie. I would hug you back too.
DeletePS.I think the new header is wonderful! So full of memories.
ReplyDeleteoh how I miss you, & my brothers. . .
ReplyDeleteHow I miss you too dear daughter. Love you.
DeleteHappy Birthday to Louis! Yes, it's hard to lose children. I suffered 3 miscarriages, but I know I will see them in heaven too! Enjoy your day! I love spending time with family, and I especially love pancakes!
ReplyDeleteOh Toni, I didn't get around to reading this full post until now, and I must say I am so sorry to read about this great loss in your life. How difficult I know this has been for you and your family, and especially your son who remains. My heart goes out to all of you, even though it has been so many years...there will always be a very soft, tender spot in your heart for the son who left earth for heaven so soon. I also have a precious son in heaven, and I miss him so much...but I know he is happy there and not in any more pain, so I rejoice for him...but still weep for the rest of us. May the Lord comfort your heart tonight and give you peace. I hope you had wonderful pancakes!!! Sounds so good!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Toni, Love the pics of you with your sons. I can't imagine your loss but I know you have hope that gets you through it. Hugs
