Friday Foto Friends ~ A NYC Bronze Trip

I took a trip online to parts of New York City and found a couple of wonderful young girls hanging out on Wall Street and Central Park and thought I would show you photos of them.

The "Fearless Girl" statue faces Wall Street's charging bull statue

If you’re sightseeing in New York, there’s a good chance that the Financial District’s Charging Bull statue (a.k.a. the Wall Street Bull) is on your list. But you’ll also see another, more recent, statue standing just a few feet in front of the headstrong animal. Fearless Girl by artist Kristen Visbal was commissioned by a Wall Street investment firm and installed in that spot in recognition of International Women’s Day, March 8, 2017. The newer bronze statue stands just over four feet tall and weighs 250 pounds. The girl stands with her feet apart, hands on hips, staring the bull directly in the eye.

Alice In Wonderland statue in Central Park

Alice in Wonderland—This bronze statue depicts Lewis Carroll’s classic fairy tale character sitting on a giant mushroom as she’s surrounded by the Mad Hatter, White Rabbit, and Cheshire Cat and has her pet cat Dina sitting on her lap. The statue was commissioned in 1959 by philanthropist George Delacorte who intended it as a gift to the children of New York City as well as being a tribute to his late wife, Margarita, who read the story to their children and the Mad Hatter is believed to have been modeled after Mr. Delacorte. The statue is located near the East side of the park around 75th street.

  1. I love NYC though I haven't been there so often. Those are the cutest sculptures and so well done. I also like your snake plant. I need a new plant myself and am looking at some kind of Dracena or another tropical plant. The one I had didn't last too long and requires a lot of maintenance.

The bull needed some challenging for sure.
Your new plant has great coloring to it. I like varying shades of green.
