What treasures can I find today
As I rummage in the attic up above
What treasures will I find today
Many saved and definitely loved
In the far corner stands a mirror
The black stained glass cannot hide
The image in the background of
A faded gown of a long ago bride
On the side I turn to see before me
The wooden sailboat on the stand
A wonderful hand crafted sailboat
Surely made by an artistic hand
My eyes wander to the corner wall
There an old tattered trunk I see
Filled with loving memories of old
Children's clothes folded carefully
Oh what treasures I have found today
While I rummaged through the place
Oh so many memories of days long ago
A tattered trunk and faded gown of lace.

A lovely poem. Lots of treasures and memories in one's attic.
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful painting and a poem, my friend, smiles.
ReplyDeleteGreat poem. I always found great stuff in my parent's attic and loved playing in it. I want to live in the house on your header too.
ReplyDeleteMe too I love that header 🙂
DeleteLove it! (all is nice here, header poem and pics)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this poem and the picture. Brings back memories of my Dad's special attic over his barn/garage. Would love to go back there again...but there's nothing left there of our family anymore. But, I probably have some of the stuff that was in that attic, now that I think about it. Stuff I probably need to clean out myself...Lol. Loved this. Thank you.
