Skywatch Friday ~ Do you remember?
Some may not remember what it was like before indoor plumbing, but I do. When we first bought land here in the country in 1962 it was completely bare of any buildings. (We moved up from the city in November of 1969 by then I had my twin boys.) It was 35 acres of wooded area. My ex and my Mom worked every weekend to clear a good couple of acres to put a home on. I just had my first of four children, my daughter. So we had an outhouse built for bathroom privileges and bought in a bullet trailer to stay in for weekends. Nothing fancy just a necessary one. So I thought I would show you some modern ones from one of my Pinterest Boards. So different and cute. I left the place and home in 1995 and have lived in apartments since then..

Until next time dear family and friends have a lovely weekend.
Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThose are fancy.
ReplyDeleteUm...are people building cute outhouses for nostalgia and putting them on Pinterist?
ReplyDeleteHahaha....our grandmothers would laugh and laugh! Things have changed so much...and, really, so fast.
No, they are building them for use and nostalgia Sandi and show them off on Pinterest. :)
DeleteI, too, used an outhouse many, many years ago. It wasn't cute, either, like these (do people really do this?) but I think I have a picture of it being built somewhere. Who would have thought?
ReplyDeleteThese are pretty fancy! Out in the desert, outhouses are still fairly common. As are outdoor showers. People from the city (LA and Orange County) seem to like the experience of the way things used to be!
ReplyDeleteLove them all. I should have the lighthouse one but I am really fond of the last one. Happy Saturday Toni
